Tan Yu Xuan Valerie is currently pursuing Diploma in Dance at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA).  She studied in School of The Arts Singapore (SOTA) for 4 years, before joining NAFA in early 2020 with a scholarship for her studies in Year 1 and 2. While in NAFA, she was under the tutelage of Dr David Zietner, Dr Filomar Cortezano Tariao, Yarra Ileto, Rosa Park, Xia Haiying, Goh Shou Yi, Qi Huan and many others. She has worked with several local and international choreographers such as Lionel Araya (US), Son Yu Joung (Korea), Christina Chan (Singapore), Zhuo Zi Hao (Singapore), Lim Moi Kim (Singapore) and Supatchai Lappakornkul (Thailand) where she performed in NAFA's Third Space and Crossings in 2020.

In late 2020, Valerie was nominated and selected for the NAFA Talent Development Program.
